Ive had difficulty swallowing bad head ache and aching all over since friday. Went to the doctors yesterday and he said I had viral mild pharingitis and that I was ok to go to work. As I work with other healthcare professionals (nurses) I thought it best to check with them this morning..........lo and behold I,ve been sent home! so I am presuming my work colleagues think they may catch it from me!.. Who is right....the doc or the nurses?

Well, if you feel fit enough to work.....then work.

Unlikely that your colleagues will catch it now unless you are in the habit of kissing them ;-)

The doctors are always right..;-)

of course sqad !! LOL
Not so much the risk to your colleagues as to patients...btw in the NHS, unless its your boss or occy health, you can't be "sent home". if your boss or occy health take issue with your not being at work, then to say that a colleague "sent you home" won't cut any ice.
I used to work for the NHS and had a really bad case of the trots once. Occy health sent me to the GP who said as I was well in myself, i should take loperamide and go back to work. Occy health on the other hand banned me from the premises until a sample had come back negative for the ussal suspects and I was 48 hours clear and off meds.
