Bronchitis

I have been ill since Tuesday and have had a really bad cough, my ribs are aching. It has now gone onto my chest, this morning I coughed up some blood, I am really worried, can any one tell me what is happening ?

Coughing up blood is not uncommon with Bronchitis and if you are beingntreated with antibiotics, all will be well.

Don't panic.

just over another nasty bout..like you ribs sore with the effort of coughing...wee bit blood sometimes but doc said it was only a side effect of strained throat left it a bit raw!!!

Thank you both, I have had no medication , as I have been too ill to go to the doc's. I had only painkillers and a cough bottle.

try hot lemon with honey !!! may soothe things a bit...only problem is having to go wee so much 'cos I'm guzzling it !

If it were me I'd drag myself to GP or ask for a home visit - chest infections are one the few conditions they are willing to give you antibiotics for in my experience.
