Had my 11th session of chemo weds and got the bloody hiccups again its enough to put you off ,any cures please

BOO !!
Cut open an orange and sip some of the juice. The slight acidity stops the hiccups.

Drink a glass of water slowly without taking your lips off the glass. This should steady the breathing and therefore calm the twitch of the diaphragm which causes the hiccups.
hiccups are a well know side effect of cancer. there are tablets you can get - can't quite remember, perhaps domperidone and steroids
A teaspoonful of sugar
sip of vinegar

bednobs i have tried domperidone but they dont work i also suffer from parkinsons the drugs for this clash with hiccups drugs

the orange juice has worked for now jumbo
It is usually the Dexamethosone (anti nausea med) administered with the Chemo that does it, should settle 24/48 hours after treatment, mention it to the team on your next cycle.

Met her a few times as she was going out with a restaurateur who was a friend of ours. This was long ago, and I have tried out the suggestion for myself. Sorry to hear about your chemo sessions. Must be horrible for you.

Had 12th cycle of chemo and guess what the bloody hiccups disappeared amazing. feeling great, going for a scan on the 8th.

Went for results of scan today, and most of the cancers have almost gone. great news no more chemo for at least 6 weeks ,no more hiccups.
