Just noticed that my husband's belly button is now sticking out when it was never like that before. He went to the gym on Weds and I think it could be a result of the exercise, however, he is not in pain but it just looks strange. Does he need to see his GP or will it revert to its normal appearance soon?

Thanks.

No big deal and no need to see his GP.....it is a small umbilical hernia.

It may stay the same size for the rest of his life, or it may get bigger over the years and need treatment....but not necessarily so.
I had one like that for 15 years till the doctor diagnosed it as an umbilical hernia. Nothing to worry about and easily repairable.
It was only when my GP examined me re a hernia in my groin that he noticed it. "Oh, look, you've got another one there. Might as well do two for the price of one!"
