we didn't get to go home today as planned, Mercia is still in hospital, and i'm afraid to say it looks like she'll be in for a while, she's very poorly. The knee she had the operation on (she had a pin put in) keeps on swelling up and she got a deep tissue infection. It's proving hard to heal as she can't take penicillin.
sorry painterman, haven't been following this thread but am sorry to hear about Mercia's problems in hospital - have just come out myself and can testify to what a great support AB was - I'm sure you'll soon have lots of good wishes to pass on and I'd like to add mine to the list.
Well my son, the fisherman came here today bringing his mate so he could drive us back home, but as we are staying now we shall have skate wing or a lobster, grilled with garlic butter - depends on what my wife fancies cooking.
Ecclescakes, Mercia had the op the first week in May, but it's been proving awkward since then. I'll pass on all your good wishes to her
Painterman, thanks. I think I spotted a post where she referred to a dodgy knee but didn't appreciate the extent. I've been working and staying in deepest darkest Devon since the beginning June and my internet access is patchy at best.
I do hope Mercia makes a good recovery, she's had a tough time from what I recall of her posts.
