Morning bet. When I was stationed at Larkhill, we took a case of beer over to Stonehenge for the dawn at midsummer, to watch the Druids doing there stuff. Very interesting. It is all fenced off now and I think you have to pay to go in.

Morning lumin. Don't you worry about us, you just go on enjoying the tropical climate. :-}
At this time of year I often wish I was back in Malaysia!
Well I am surprised that you have to pay to see Stonehenge!! Is anything free anymore.. I lost the internet for a while ....hence the delay xx
Question Author
Welcome back bet. Disgraceful isn't it.

We used to go over there quite a lot. It's only about ½ to ¾ of a mile from our barracks. A pleasant walk and a peaceful place.
We travelled there from the Black country on a triumph 650,, to see my boyfriends uncle who was stationed at Bulford camp,, i think that was the name anyway.. many many many years ago xx.. When were you there ???
Question Author
Bulford Camp is correct bet. It was (and probably still is) either armour or infantry based there, can't remember which. I was at Larkhill. We were Depot Regiment for the School of Artillery from 1964 to 1966 when we went to Malaysia.
Small world wbm,, we used to visit between 1962 and 1963,, then I met a man in RAF uniform and the rest is history.. bang went the motorbilke though cause Mr B was a 4 wheel man... those were the days xx
Question Author
I remember them well bet. I had a motorbike in a previous life, but prefer 4 wheels, much better in bad weather! '63 I was based in London, couldn't stand it, so got myself posted to Larkhill. Quite enjoyed it there.
