hi, i need desperate help, please! Okay, well I'll start off by letting you know that i have gone from midnight black hair all the way to platinum blonde in 7 months, just last month i noticed my hair getting very dry and i figured since i used deep conditioners from a salon 3 days a week, that it was probably my dye. So i went for a dark blood red color, which is beautiful by the way, but the texture of my hair is horrendous. i trim it once a month, but i need a name of some really good shampoos and conditioners. My hair is starting to break off. thanks- [Email address removed as per site policy. - AB Editor]

The best thing to do is wash your hair and squeeze as much water out as possible, then put on any good conditioner and wrap cling film around your head, then put a towel around it and leave on for a couple of hours then wash out as normal....and dont dye your hair for quite a while. hope this helps x
Best intensive conditioner you can use for this is AUSSIE MIRACLES. Available in all supermarkets. Doi as Dragonfly suggests and keep it on as long as possible. Best of luck to you ... and don't worry, been there done that meself!!
Tip from my hairdresser is to use loads of olive oil. Rub it all over your hair. Tie your hair back if it is long enough and leave it on for as long as you can (all day if you can)
I'd go to a hairdresers if I were you.
Only way to get rid of that dry brittle hair is to cut it short, very short.
My hair is also bleached and chemically dyed and also very thick and wavy. Redken All Soft Heavy Cream is fab but expensive. You can buy it in salons. For slightly cheaper alternatives I alternate between John Frieda Beach Blonde Kelp Help, Charles Worthington Q&A Frizz and Trevor Sorbie Long Hair (this one comes in 'curly' and 'straight' variations). They're all available at Boots.
You are in luck! I have done this alot myself. You can get Nexxus emergencee from a salon (about 15$ for a tiny bottle) since it is pure protein it really helps hairs structure. You should get a trim...and here is the best tip I could ever give anyone: there is something you can get only from a beauty supply store called a protein filler, choose a clear one (they have colored ones too) mix it in the next time your color your hair and/or put some on hair before coloring...it fills in any weak spots of your hair and makes it shiny and soft. I myself am platinum blonde that used to have black hair and I swear this works. A hair dresser clued me in on this little secret and I will never color my hair again without it.Just make sure to trim your hair regularly,no need to go to drastic measures and cut it all off.
oh yes,and friz ease from john frieda helps as well!
Ok, I am highly qualified in hair, make-up, style analysis and colour analysis. The colour sounds gorgeous by the way! I suggest going into your nearest Lush shop. I recommend them very highly because they have superb treatments for coloured or damaged hair. I would suggest the BIG shampoo and American Cream conditioner, coupled with one of their leave in hair treatments - probably Arabian Brights to bring out your gorgeous colour. Good luck :)
