sometime not eating enough makes you gain weight as your body goes into starvation mode and then stores all food as fat. It also slows your metabilism right down which can also make you gain weight. You should at little and often

thanks. ill have to try and give that a go as im desperate to get rid of the bulge
Seriously you are really not eating enough! How do you get through the day only eating that??? You should be eating 3 meals a day plus 3 snacks. Doing that amount of exercise as well starves you, your body needs the fuel. Have you seen your doctor for advice??

i suppose i have become obbsesive about it but i am desperate to lose weight. thanks for your advice i really should address it as it could get out of hand. i have been taking vitiamin supps and thought this would balance my nutritional intake. i havent seen a doctor yet but i think it might be a good idea. does anybody know of any good nutritional sites i could access for information
i agree with above comments, you are not eating enough. Porridge is good for breakfast, as with skimmed milk it hardly contains any calories and is one of the superfoods. You should drink plenty of water too and eat lunch and dinner. Try to make your last meal before 7pm as there is more chance of burning off the calories. It may take a few weeks for your body to adjust as it thinks it is being starved and is retaining all the calories to keep itself going at the moment. Give it a month or two, and if that doesnt work, you may have an under active thyroid, so should see your GP.
Jules77 is right go see you doctor. Do it now rather than later so you know you have no health issues. Also tell your doctor what your trying to achieve.

Break your current meals into 6 smaller portions and eat them 3 hours apart from each other. Reduces the changes of over eatting and causing an insulin spike which is the gate way to fat. if you get that tired feeling after eating your consuming to much in one sitting

No alcohol or very little. The liver is important for fat loss and if its too busy dealing with Alcohol then the fat loss is put on hold.

No junk food, sugars etc

Drink two cups of strong black coffee or green tea in the morning to boost your metabolism.

Always make sure you urine is clear or light yellow. If its dark drink water.

Dont ever skip breakfast - It really is the most important

Start eating approx 1800-2000 calories a day. If your weight stays the same or goes up then drop 200 calories a day and recheck 7 days later. Dont worry if your weight increases because you will benfit as your body will be out of starvation mode. If your weight still does not drop reduce by another 200 calories a day until your weight drops. Once this happens stay at that level until it stops and reduce again until the weight drops. dont drop below 1200 as a guide you will probably go into hibernation mode and stop fat loss. The idea is to track your eating in calories so you know exactly whats being consumed. If you reach the 1200calories a day increase your excersise

This is not fool proof but it gives you a starting point and you must measure and monitor.
