is it true that tresemme is really bad for your hair, i have been told this on many occasions?

Yes, as like most high street shampoo' they advertise stating that they will give your hair a salon shine, however all it does is puts a layer of silicone over the hair which creates a build up. Use a salon shampoo, like Charles Worthington, Toni and Guy, these will strip the build up and give your hair a natural shine. Hope this long winded answer helps!
I used tresemme a couple of years ago and started off really liking it however after a while, realised that it was causing both me and my dad to have really itchy and flaky scalps - It is really not great and I would advise as with the other person, using a salon shampoo eg John Frieda, Kerastase or Charles Worthington.
My hairdresser recommends changing your shampoo frequently - ie buy a different make each time. This stops any one particular type building up on your hair. I just buy the brand thats on offer each time!
