You can get porcelain veneers. They will cover both the darkened tooth and the gap. It is best to have all 6 front teeth done, though to look uniform. They don't require a lot of preparation of the teeth, but can be kind of costly. I'm in the US and they are $750-1500 each here. Depends on where you live. You may be able to get away with just the front four.
I had to have a crown on a tooth I broke a few months ago and it cost me 450! Had no option though so went with it. Got it all done in a few hours, dentist was fantastic. Can you not just get an enamel veneer coating or do you really need the gap filled? I guess you can't get it on NHS as it might be seen to be 'cosmetic' and not essential.
I had a gap in between my two front teeth for years. Then all of a sudden it closed. I was absolutely gutted!! I loved the gap!! A gap means you will come in to money and it always got me alot of attention. Smile, smile, smile astonsmummy

I can understand people feeling self cnscious about the appearance of their nashers esp in cases where the teeth are all squashed and twisted but I have to say I find veneers so boring and plain. where's the character? I like unusual/regular/normal teeth. Soon we'll all have the same straight, white teeth....Zzzz zzzz.
