I have just read this article, someone posted it on FB. It cheered me up ☺

Cats really are the most unpredictable and contrary animals. That's why people love them.

wolf; it made you happy that a cat wasted some human's time? Some human who could have been helping another human in a problem situation?
I think they have a secret network set up across the Country to take turns at doing this Wolf.

You having a bad day Atheist?

It amuses me that Humans are supposed to be more intelligent than Cats, yet Cats are capable of getting their own way most of the time.

Nobody forced the Cat slave to climb the tree and he probably should have known better. It all worked out in the end.

Not a cat person?
I think you're being argumentative for the sake of it Atheist. If there was anything else the fire brigade had to do at that point, you can sleep well in the knowledge that it would've taken priority over a moggy rescue.
Mamy, not particularly, but I don't have a soft spot for cats, since ours trashed our daughter's bed when we were on holiday, and was always slyly scratching our dog's nose whenever she got the chance. Our lovely huge labrador cross got revenge one day when she caught the cat out on the green at the side of our house; she chased her and then caught her in her mouth, but she was a natural soft-mouthed labrador and after running around with her to teach her a lesson she put her down gently and unharmed.
Maybe I am having a bad day. :-)
Thanks everyone for helping me realise I have become a bit Meldrewish. I'd better calm down.
We all have those days.
Not you, Mamy. :-)
When our cat was younger, he used to get up on garage roof. Me & son used to fetch chairs to climb up with arms outstretched, calling sweetly. He used to meow so pathetically. We were so worried he would be stuck. After a while, we got tired of trying. As soon as we turned our back, the little devil found a way down. Oh how we laughed... :-(
Mamy, for some reason I have a real aversion to 'cute cat' syndrome. I don't find life cute, I don't find the Royals cute. I don't find anything cute. Life is life and we should try to get through it with kindness and understanding and tolerance and doing practical stuff to cope and to help others.
Take your point but a dollop of cuteness can sometimes be comforting escapism - for me at least.
If it's good for you then it's good for you, Mamy. :-)
You're Meldrewing again Atheist ;-)

A purring furbaby does more to lower my blood pressure than almost anything else. I miss not having a pet.

I've been Depressed today, I think we are suffering mentally due to the lockdown. To make things worse I have no chocolate.
I have work to do for Oxfam but can't be bothered.
I think I will go and hide under the duvet.

Atheist - cats ARE cute, but only on the outside.
Mozz, is a furbaby a robot/dolly? Like I said to Mamy, if it does you good, then it does you good. Lowering blood pressure like that is better than taking tablets.
It's a scientific fact that stroking cats can lower blood pressure.
Have you stroked you pesky cat lately, Atheist?
I wonder if lack of human attention caused her to seek it from the dog?
No, a furbaby is just a nickname for a pet. Agreed, nature's own medication.
wolf, on the inside, cats are a mass of blood, guts and poo, just like all living animals. But that doesn't put me off the outside of my lover.I wish I was there to give you chocolate and comfort. Depression I have no real personal experience of, but I suspect that physical comfort might help provide inner comfort. I wish you well.
A Furby was/is a toy, that's different.

I have never been owned by a cat, we had dogs.
