I love some of the abstract 3D art on the web such as that on www.deviantart.c om however i would love to learn how to create some of my own. I don't know the first place to start. How do you go about creating it. Do you start with 2D drawings first? What kind of programs will i need? Are there any i can get for free? What i really need is somewhere i can get a tutorial. If any one could help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Luke

There are a couple of free versions of professional 3d software available. One from Maya, one from 3dsMax.(see links below).

The first thing you need to do is download one and be prepared to spend a LOT of time learning. Luckily, there are lots of good books and online tutorials available.
