In A Christmas Carol, the main character is Ebenezer Scrooge who is, well, a scrooge.  His assistant is Bob Crachit, a much nicer man.  Three ghosts visit Scrooge and take him to the past, present and future where he sees his sister Fan and the Crachit family (Martha, Tiny Tim - famous line "God bless us, everyone")

Hope that helps!

Well, 4 ghosts visit him actually - the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Future are heralded by Scrooge's former business partner, Jacob Marley.

Ebernezer Scrooge is the skinflint main character. Other main characters are Bob Crackitt, the 3 ghosts and Bob Marleys ghost. also Scrooge's nephew, a nice young man, and not forgetting crackitt's family including Tiny Tim.

Don't forget Belle and Fezziwig. Or is that Fozziwig - depending on which film version you've seen!
