What is Englands largest freshwater fish?

Could you say what you mean with largest; bulk or length.

Pike can be 6' or more but native carp can be a lot heavier.

Thankyou for your answer. This is a question in a local church quiz worded as printed in my previous post. I can't really give you a definite answer.I can only guess they mean by bulk.
Largest Pike caught with rod and line is I think nearly 47lbs

The record for a Salmon is 64lbs that was caught in the 30s in the River Tay

Does it definately say England and not the UK?

If so I think the answer is the mirror carp

That list is way out of date and the current Carp record stands at 67lb.
Does a Wels Catfish count?
