I have a Chinese village scene embroidered on silk. There are 7men doing various things from juggling to martial arts. In the scene there are three pagodas, various small trees, grasses and several butterflies. Can anyone give me any information on where and when this was made and for what purpose. It is embroidered on loose silk(backed) and measures approx 4ft 6in square

Many thanks for your answers. The item was bought approx 1971/2 and the antique dealer suggested that it might be 70 to 80 years old. I think I once heard that the design (ie characters etc) tells you which part of China it has been made in ? Once again thanks for the answers.
