I don't think the quote is word perfect but, according to Google, Charles de Gaulle said it! Possibly about France? No doubt the man who knows everything, Quizmonster, will be along shortly to put us right! :-)

This was the original quote whcih translates exactly to the question and it was indeed said by De Gaulle...reported by Ernest Mignon in his 1962 book Les mots du G�n�ral.

Not exactly sft, that translates as 246 varieties. He-he-he!
