Does anybody know the name of the famous artist who painted the piece with people all sitting in a sunny scene and ladies holding parasols.? The art is created using dots of paint. Hope someone can help?? The name of the painting would be useful too. Thanks, Emma.

that will be sunday afternnon on the isle of la grande jatte (think that's right) by georges seurat
This style of painting using small dots is called pointilism.
...although Seurat never used the word pointillism - he called it chromoluminism (colour and light). For further interest check out the stage musical 'Sunday In The Park With George' by Stephen Sondheim - the recent London production of whcih has just scooped 5 Olivier Awards!
