Have you informed the police?

I'd just put it on the road, to be honest - and then tell the dvla about an untaxed car parked on the highway.
Have read of this.the local authourity should remove it.

Dont move it onto the highway,as for one thing you will be guilty of tipping. Also consider that if the owner was aware that you had moved it he may sue you for any damage caused. Also if you moved it onto the highway you could possibly be guilty of using a motor vehicle with no insurance/mot/tax etc
If it's on private land you will have to pay the Council to tow it away. I'd notify the police that it has been abandoned They should then liaise with your local council who will get it towed away.
