Help finding a book

Years ago I read a book and I really want to track it down, can't remember what it was called or who the author was so I was wondering if I tell you the basic story maybe one of you may of read it and remember it (I know I'm really clutching at straws) OK, it's about a woman, newly seperated from her hubby who leaves the city with her 2 children (boy and girl) to buy a really run down smallholding in the middle of the countryside, she has no money and has to do the house up and earn some money at the same time, so she starts a boarding kennels but doesn't have the heart to actually put the dogs in the outside kennels so ends up with them living in the house with her, sleeping on her beds and sofa etc, the book is very funny and follows her trials and tribulations as she copes with life in the country and all these excentric dogs and their owners. Ring any bells with anyone? It must of been about 15 years ago when I read it, but would love to read it again, any suggestions on how I can track it down would be gratefully received
