A book on my todo list; I'd be interested in your views hal, can we have a synopsis please.
Question Author
It is a very long interior monologue in which the narrator brutally assesses his relationships with his family and work colleagues, with a good deal of attention to his sex life, which includes a large number of affairs. It has office/organisational politics, family dynamics and a jaundiced take on WASP culture. Its also very moving (in a harsh and honest way) about the effect having a brain damaged child has on the family. It doesn't sound like a barrel of laughs does it, but in fact it is shot through with a great deal of black humour. An extraordinary novel but I have to say it left me feeling a little depressed!
Thx for that, sounds a bit Salinger Cauldfield.
