Dont they cause so many problems. If I text my boyfriend and he doesnt reply within hours I get really irrate and end up sending angry texts which he still doesnt reply to. Is it just us women who like texting then. (or just me!)

Christ, been here Miss-read! I sent a huge rant to someone via text and it turned out they were in hospital! Oooops! And yes, women know the etiquette to texting, many men do not! However, I have found, the more irate you get, the less likely they are to reply!

daftpixie, yes and when they dont reply, it makes you even more bl**dy angry. Have tried playing it cool, but my texting finger takes control, then I go off on one again! grrrrr
I know hun, its not easy is it. You think, ooh just one more cutting message will make him see sense/ feel guilty/ scared... so that he replies. But they dont! They think, menstrual cycle/ phsyco/ ******** to her/ yeah yeah will deal with this later.... !!!!

I thought it was only me who thought like that! Yeah, I've done all that, if you dont reply to this text, then I wont text you again. 2 hours later, I am texting stuff like, so, you dont care then do you? And in the meantime, he still has'nt replied!

Read your post about getting your law degree. Well done you xx
Aww cheers hun, it wasnt easy, I hated every minute of it!

But no, your not the only one, far from it. And it takes so much self discipline not to send those sort of texts when being ignored. Ive learnt though, after years of doing this! Im dont pander to sulking, or being ignored etc. I send a text, I dont get a reply. I wait awhile and possibly send another. If I dont get a reply, I assume the problem is at their end, not mine, and leave it at that! Not that my inner child isnt going 'how rude, tell him he's a knobwit, tell him to sod off etc'

From a bloke's point of view that's had been on the receiving end of those many times, makes alarm bells ring and me run a mile!!

well apart from tying my hands behind my back, I have then deleted his number, then spent hours scouring through my old bt phone bill to find it again, Just to send that "one last text"

To which I still never get a reply. Think burning the sim card is my next plan!!!
Question Author
country-boy, why dont you just reply to the b*ggers. And make our life easier?
HAHAHAHAH! MIss-read! The phone bill scenario! Bloody hell, that ones a classic!

And yes country boy, why dont you?!! lol
In my case she would get sh1tty if I'd not replied within ten minutes, busy or not, actually read her message or not. Never took no for an answer, make really dumb threats! I was turned right off by her lack of pride in herself! It wasn't a proper relationship due to other complications, but I didn't want it to develop into one after that! Get texts all the time asking for a final yes or no, I'll reply with no, not interested, but it doesn't get through! So I don't answer them any more.
Fair enough Countryboy, in that case, I totally understand your position! We are not all like that though (not that you were implying that we were) x
i am a girl. i never look at my phne, so consequently could have texts there for 48 hours or more before u answer them. absolutely hate being "instantly available" to anybody at all, and would never send arsey text if someone didnt reply. Id assume they either had no credit, no battery or just didnt want to/couldn't reply. if someone was demanding my instant replies, i would get so peed off, and would be backing away very swiftly
I used to be like that, getting worked up of he didn't reply immediatly. But having now been on the receiving end of these irate texts I can completly understand where guys are coming from. I dont always check my phone for messages, or may get them at inconvenient times so often think i'll get back to him later, but before I've even had a chance to reply I've received the 'are you ignoring me', 'wtf the matter with you' texts. It just makes me think a)he's insecure, b) he's got far too much time on his hands c) I don't have time for these tantrums (or for him). And just for the record YES you can be too busy to text a reply!

I'll definatley be thinking twice now before firing of a text.
nah, that's what texting is for, it's like instant messaging, if you wanted to wait for a reply you would send a bloody letter, as far as i am concerned what was the point in developing the technology if it isn't goping to be used, if you don't want to use text messaging, don't get a mobile phone, buy a pad of writing paper, a pack of envelopes, a biro and a book of stamps, second class if u want.

Dotty
xxxx
But its a bit hard replying when you dont even know you've received a message.
My case in point, if you don't use your mobile phone in a mobile situation don't bother with one, tell people you only use it for emergencies, they won't bother texting you then. Noone will text you, tyou won't have to worry about missing a text and they won't worry that you don't reply.
Barking mad.

Why don't you just ring him?
yep totally agree with you miss-read. Doesnt help when you are on o2 trying to text someone and there texts come through hours late after you have been thinking theyve been ignoring you lol
