In 1994 Antony Gormley sat in a studio in Merseyside and made 40,000 clay figures, titled European Field. Does anyone know where they are currently being exhibited? Thanks :-)

but it may be out of date.

There are a few versions of the field, as far as I know there are none showing in the uk at the moment but there is a contact section on his web site where you can mail his assistant and find out. My 7 year old son loves his work and would love to see the field too.
It was on display at the Liverpool Tate in August 2004, perhaps they will know where it might be now. I imagine though that it is in storage waiting for another public opportunity.
We saw it at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park this year but it may have gone now. It's definitely worth tracking down.
The only trouble with his Angel of the North is that he can't do bodies and he can't do wings... ;-)
