Im trying to work out what to do in my as level french oral and for once im lost for words!!!!!weve got five topic areas to choose from food and drink health and fitness schools and education news and media relationships and the family .help
Food and drink - you could talk about how you prepare and cook your favourite recipe (if you don't/can't cook, just make it up). You can describe the different ingredients - their smell, colour, texture, taste, where you buy the ingredients from and then how you prepare and cook them and what equipment/kitchen utensils you need etc.
If you chose news and media you could discuss a world event, there are plenty of French Language websites and newspapers which you could use as a source of information - especially for specific phrases such as "United Nations" in French.
I remember when I did my A Level Oral I was commended beacuse I discussed politics and that's a popular topic of everyday conversation for the French.
My dad managed to direct the subject of his French oral around so he could use the longest French word he knew: prestidigitateur (note I can say it, not spell it!), which means 'magician'. 40 years later, I managed to do exactly the same thing. We both passed!
