Ordering a sign for my son James. Its going to say Games Room. Lots of arguing about the apostrophe. Should it be James' Games Room or James's Games Room?

But am expecting prudie will ignore my contribution as she's made fun of my grammar/spelling before
James' probably looks better... but I'm still unsure about "games". Surely, it means "room of games"?

Does it need a sign? Lol
Both are correct, it is your choice. Use the way you would say it.
My preference would be 'James's', as then it is spelt as it feels comfortable to pronounce it.
If he is over the age of 12 I wouldn't get him a sign with his name on it.
BA to roy.
I guess with the prevalence of the "grocer's apostrophe" that a lot of people see "James's" as meaning "more than one James", i.e. Jameses
It may be such a big house he sometime's forgets which room is which roy
sometime's ?
"Technically, James' implies there is more than one Jame" only if "Jame" were a name but I'm not aware it is.
"But am expecting prudie will ignore my contribution as she's made fun of my grammar/spelling before " well that's because it's so terrible usually it's remarkable!

I would do James' but I am no authority :)
CORBYLOON - As the saying goes "Google is your friend":

I would like to know why bobbinwales puts A instead of I in his posts and what he thinks apostrophes are for?
Etch, but the poster's son is called James.
Jame Gumb is a character in Silence of the Lambs
....and why he writes peopel instead of people :)
Atheist, Etch is answering Corbyloon
barry, so he is!
I did make it clear I was not aware of "Jame" as a name but thanks for letting me know.
Fair enough I probly have a higher IQ than those who think a should'nt contribute to posts about grammar and maybe even crosswords and dont understand some disabilities but its no skin off my nose, am happy to be kept in my place and will keep my nose out
