Am trying to think of the writer or playwright who wrote a book or drama which proved that humans, when presented with a choice to relive their lives, usually make the same choices & repeat the same mistakes again. Can anybody point me in the right direction please? Thanks.

I'm looking forward to someone answering this, the text sounds like an interesting discussion on human nature... and also perhaps of free will vs predestination. I can imagine that another author's version of the story might head in the direction of the same things happening to people regardless of the choices they make.

How about an example from life ?

When my uncle divorced wife no 2 and married wife no 3, the hunourists in the family wondered why he had bothered since no 3 was so like no 2.
