I think, as I said, it's obvious the artist is on the younger side, but I also said it's good and I mean that, her use of colour and style is lovely, perfecting technique will improve with each piece she does, and it's perfectly nice enough to go on my wall as it is, so yes if she's artistically inclined then art college is really good place to start so I think that's perfectly sensible and if it's what she herself wants to do then it's pretty vital she does it, you can't extinguish a creative flame :) x

If you want to make money in the art world, become a tattoo artist. Try get an apprenticeship.

She has talent but I, personally, don't like the subject matter. She should follow her dream.

I agree with HC - when I saw it in your avatar pic I thought it was the female reproductive tract from the front.

I can see that she is creative and talented but I don't like the subject matter either. I find it depressing. I would like to see some more of her work.

it's a desert, mountain scape with a skull it just is what it is. It could represent the dryness of society imagination, maybe?

I think it's a fantastic painting. Talented? Very much so and the imagination of a fourteen year old to paint that is more than promising.
Were she a child or pupil of mine I would certainly be encouraging her to follow the dream of art school should she wish.......and I really would love to see more of her work......x

I could pretend to be artsy-fartsy and say something pretentious such as the painting appears to center on an interest in the universality of our biological make-up and landscape; combined with the collective sense of the sublime. However, I won't. I don't like it...It's sort of going in the direction of Hieronymus Bosch.

Thanks, Boo.....there is no doubt about it so stop waffling because you're her mum! The girl is good. I like her work....it's very much to my taste.....but it wouldn't matter if it wasn't...... the talent and the imagination are obvious.
I get the same feeling looking at those paintings as I did when we discovered a really talented child at school......watching them develop was a joy.....x

She has done digital work, its part of the school art thingy (ooo technical wordage- lol) But she's not a fan, she truly loves painting and tends to stick to that when she can.

When I say hands on I mean traditional working with paints on paper and the tablet thingy is a pad that plugs into the computer that you can digitally paint with, I was just curious which she preferred if she did both, but you've just answered that :) x

I'd have thought being able to paint would be something of a drawback
in today's art-world. (ignore the pun)
