RIP Terry - I found him very inspirational.
Question Author
i've been reading his books for must be 20 odd years now, must admit i'ma bit teary
Oh, I liked his tales, sorry he has gone so soon.
Awwww great loss, RIP Terry Pratchett.
A great author and a lovely man - I met him once at an Alzheimer's conference - I shall miss his books and his indomitable spirit.
I picked up copy of the Colour of Magic at Birmingham Airport back in '83 to help the time pass on a flight to Crete and immediatly became hooked. The fact that all those wonderfull characters,Commander Vimes,Nanna Ogg,Rinceweed and DEATH to name but a few, will never entertain us with new adventures is an awful loss but you did leave us some great books to re-read.
R.I.P Sir Terry, you will never be forgotten by the millions of people who've had the pleasure of reading your books
the world will have less wisdom in it too.
Very sad news indeed - magical books from a wonderful mind, the world is a poorer place today.

RIP Terry
Gone too soon. Very sad
The world is a bit less funny without him. A great author and a very good man. A great loss. RIP Terry.
you could always sign the petition to get him back - much more worthwhile than Clarkson, imo

Had he really declined in health very quickly recently, as it doesn't seem long ago since I saw him on TV? I wonder if Terry himself decided it was time to leave us, as he had always campaigned for this and even produced a documentary on dignity in dying - although newspaper reports said he died naturally.

My OH will miss his books - he has read them all - how will I replace his annual TP book at Christmas?
Ann, It may have been his Alzheimers that eventually claimed him.
yes, his family said he hadn't hastened his end.
It was apparently natural. The younger you get it, the quicker the decline is.
Nanny Ogg, Granny Weatherwax and Magret will be holding their own private wake. That should be fun if Nanny Ogg is supplying the slurpy cake!
