Has anyone read it - and if so, did you enjoy it? I've just started it.

yes, but a long time ago! I think it was OK, not brilliant but an OK read.
I read it a while ago too. It's just a nice, easy read - nothing challenging in it. It's much along the same lines as The Friday Night Knitting Club, but much better written (I really did not like that book!)

Thanks ladies. I've read a bit - and I think I'm going to abandon it. One for the charity shop.
I read it when it first came out and didn't like it, but only for one reason. When the narrator - who refers to herself as I or me throughout, and is one of the group- is describing the members of the group, she goes on to name them. She says (I think) that there are 7 members and then gives 7 names - so just who is the narrator? It aggravated me all through the book!

Thanks for answering Lynda. I'm never likely to find out. It's on the pile for the charity shop.
All the way through, I expected the narrator to be Jane Austin herself (which would have made more sense lol)
OK

not as good as the real thing (Miss Austen of course)
