another 30 odd quid, same as last year and even more the forst year, year 7. My kids all got a pencil case each, a pen a pencil rubber sharpener and maybe a ruler. what's with post-it notes, tippex, glue sticks, etc etc, does it make then cleverer to have to cart a load of stuff about all day?

not really but when I was at school they expected you to have all your own equipment

yeah well that included a hockey stick and a latin dictionary but i managed without tippex. Mrs Nesmith has alot to answer for and is only forgiven for giving us her son.
i remember each year it used to be new kilt new shoes new pencil case, pens pencils, coloured pens/pencils, folders, tippex, file dividers, those reinforcement rings....list goes on...and thats before the school fees
my children's schools have never requested post-it notes, glue sticks or tippex, seems a little strange. stationary wise my daughter tends to need just pens
i used to only need post it notes when i was doing my exams. I found them useful for memorising things such as quotes etc
Curious, dotty, why are you paying for these things, not his parents?

because i work in a stationers and get 20% off lol i don't mind the basic stuff but they seem to need alot of things that are just unnecessary, maybe they don;t need them, maybe it is just because they know their mates will have them
Hey, Queenie, you forgot to mention the school blazers, shirts (formal and otherwise) and the folders and schoolbags etc etc, then there were the fees!
Ah, that makes sense, dotty!
and then there were the cuffs, the whips, the straps, report forms and the Borstal t-shirts marked "young offender".......oh and the vests with some bird footprints on.
Well, the school was "approved" DT
was it really....after I left it really lived up to its 'nickname'
remind me....
do i have to?
do tell....
Slags = St Mags
I felt it was, nungate.....!
I am by no means a ***
Naturally, that was after you left......you've been raised to be a lady.........I wonder what happened
i fell off the bandwagon somewhere LOL
