the books i would like on my kindle are quite expensive. Is there a site you can get them - legally - cheaper?
I have searched but there only seems to be sharing type sites coming up, and i don't think they are legal are they?

Pretty much anything that's out of copyright can be had for free in a number of formats including Kindle from Project Guttenberg

http://www.gutenberg.org/

This is basically any author who's been dead 70 years

So you've got all of Dickens, Brontes, HG Wells, Mark Twain etc. 39,000 or so
its the same with music. Thanks to Cliff Richard the royalty period has increased by 20 years to 70 years. That means fans will have to keep buying Cliff's early music when after 2008 it would have been free.
Question Author
People PAY for Cliff Richard's music???
Get books from wherever you like, in any format and download Calibre (free) software to convert them to your device's file type
Does your Kindle allow you to download from the public library? I download 3 books a fortnight for my Sony eReader.
Be very careful on relying on Calibre to convert the book if the book is DRM protected.
I found this list on my local library website. Some are for downloading, some to borrow, and others are for reading online.
