Yes, indeed Em, great stuff. It’s a book I can pick up and open at any page – and just read.

Similarly with Jane Eyre. No sex – but what passion!

//Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong!--I have as much soul as you,--and full as much heart! . . . I am not talking to you now through the...

I am not into horror stories, nor most Sci Fi, but adore Stephen Donaldson, his books on Thomas Covenant are fantastic. Rather Tolkien like but they go off into directions that has my head reeling.
A Million Little Pieces, by James Frey

Craft - I tried to read a Dean Koontz book once about two years ago maybe and I could not get into it at all. Can't rememebr what it was called, but didn't like it I'm afraid.

State of the Union, Douglas Kennedy - another belter !
Just bought Hanging Hill by Mo Hayder. I would recommend Mo Hayder to anyone who likes a gripping, disturbing thriller which stays with you after you have read it ... (I've recommended her before - think Craft will like her books).
I'm reading "The Falls" by Joyce Carol Oates at the moment. I've read some of her work before and she's very good, if not particularly easy at times.
I've read all of those Kate Mosse books chi-chi, really enjoyed them. I have "The Forgotten Garden" from the library so will read that next.
Will have to recommend Mo Hayder to my Book Group, we haven't read a thriller in a while
Any of the books by Peter James in the "Roy Grace" series.
The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, Donaldson
The Earthsea Trilogy, Le Guin
