I cringe when sports folk like John Inverdale talk about things being 'key' to a match or whatever. I cringe when people refer to dancing as 'throwing some shapes'. What modern phrases make you cringe?

At this moment in time and not on my watch
You've got to take the positives from this going forward, though I know it's a big ask.

(I don't think 'key' is new, though.)
Touch base.....think outside of the box....we'll talk offline

To name a few...
Sports Commentators who say "he's put in a good shift" no he chuffing hasn't and he has no idea what a chuffing shift is like.

Strangers who call me "Matey"
Yup, 'At this moment in time' and 'think outside the box' especially with added hand gestured inverted commas, and some insurance selling bloke said to me the other week 'let me run this up your flagpole' when trying to explain a scenario.
'Have a nice day' Yuk!!!

When people say "Can I get..."
I cringe when people constantly say "sort of" or "kind of".... just listen out for it on the television; I promise you that once you notice it, it will get on your nerves. Another pet hate of mine is "end of".
It drives me insane when someone answers a question with..."whatever"
Yes Mrs O; especially with that stupid hand gesture, as in "talk to the hand".. Are they Americanisms do you think?
