Are there any books about Courier Self Employment?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but need to know if there are any books about becoming a same day courier. As most of you know I am still out of work, and I am now considering many things. I think I have decided to become a courier, but need to know more about this profession. I know it is not rocket science, but the rates they claim you can charge seem very high, and not sure what to quote to firms I apply to.
