Invisible?

I remember finding a book in a Waterstones in birmingham under the "Life Changing Books" rack and it was considered an american classic. There was a picture of a burnt flag on the front ( i think ) and the back said it revolved around a man who became invisible because no one wanted to see him? Or something? Help help
