Sherlock Holmes Titles

The student Alba was asking me last night if I could recommend any titles for him to look at/read.
It is part of his college course, but can't think of any.
I know we could google but I'd prefer a human reply please.
I used to have quite a few books but got lost in several moves.
The Scarlet Lady rings a bell with me.

Alba, I think the book is called 'A Study in Scarlet'.

I mentioned that to him Factor, but it seems to have been done to death.
He's to take a different look at designing the front cover, spine and back cover with a 2 page pull-out.
(That's if I've understood his brief properly)

Alba, if he has a kindle he can get the books very cheaply from Amazon - less than £1 - and some of them free.
