murders on tv

Why are there so many murders on tv? Cant anyone write a good strong story any more that doesnt include gruesome bloodstained corpses or even graphic torture? I even watched Lewis last night (I never watched Morse) and i cant remember whether there were two or three murders. How many more are there going to be in the series. Does anyone want to live in Midsomer? Does the Waking The Dead team go down the pub after a good day investgating yet more gruesome murders (its never just the one). The body count must be enormous.

Well in all fairness if you dislike the sight of bloodstained corpses on the television maybe you're watching the wrong genre? I mean call me silly but if I was sitting down to watch a programme called Midsomer Murders I think it only right to presume there'd be bodies somewhere in it!
