Morning all,

Another day of fixing ahead. We've done lots of things behind the scenes to speed up the site, I hope you can see some of the differences. We've also done a bit of colouring in for original posters.

We will fix the problem of taking you back to the homepage after submitting a question.

The Clock will be fixed today.

We will also review latest posts - it should not show the latest poster on a question. The issue everyone seems to have is the lack of a refresh button and it the way it doesn't immediately show your post. Is this correct?

Anything else we can do to make your life easier?

Let us know and we'll do our best,

All the best,

Spare Ed

I think you've just about covered everything.
Instead of being taken back to the homepage, couldn't you just have a topic called "Lobby" :D

miss the latest poster on a question but other than that all is well. Nice work!

Tea? Coffee? Cake? A Small Fruit Bun?

We're working with the Tech team this afternoon and evening to get things sorted (the site not the cakes!).

Are you okay to post questions now Ummmm?

Thanks,

Spare Ed
Good morning Mr.Ed !
Nice to know you are all working hard behind the scenes sorting out the teething problems. Just as a matter of interest, is AB manned 24hrs a day and at weekends in order to keep an eye on the Site ?
Regarding the Site Colours- If you darkened everything, the white lettering would show up better and aid those with visual problems !
The speed of the Site seems pretty good this morning so keep it going.
I empty my Browser Cache everyday and I find this helps speed up my PC.
The Articles tab is confusing me, what is that for?
Question Author
Can anyone remind my about the text size issues please?

We want bigger for when you're writing a question? 10 or 12?

All the best,

Spare Ed
Apologies if these has been done to death but...
1. I'd like to be able to see the lines between Q's and A's without changing my browser (I'm on IE)
2. In my profile I'd like to be able to go back further than the first 20 of everything
Can you please use Text Size 12 when writing in Box. It comes out OK
Question Author
Not all pages have articles yet.

Some of them look like this:

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/History-and-Myths/article/who-was-cb-fry-and-what-did-he-do/

The old site had these hidden away so we'd thought we'd dump them on here. They are a bit old but we'll be adding fresh stuff as soon as we have a completely stable site.

We were also hoping we could get those users who could be considered "power" users to write articles and blogs for publication on the website. We thought this might be an interesting prospect for users like yourself Dot who contribute a great deal to the site.

We unsure exactly how this will work, but we'll get there.

Anyone who would like to write some articles for Chatterbank should send them across to [email protected] - I am unsure what the topic could be of course!

Robinia - noted, I will bring it up again today with the tech team.

All the best,

Spare Ed
No, I still can't post questions.

That's not too much of a problem....I haven't really got anything ask.
Ed I know it's not that important in the grand scheme but what happened to my stats.
in 'my profile' ?
Question Author
Your stats have been entered into the hall of fame... Well, it used to be the hall of fame before we moved into AnswerBank Towers, now we use it as a store room.

You'll get them back! Don't worry, it is, as you say, a minor but important issue.

What is everyone's number one issue by the way?

Spare Ed
No1 Issue is to get the Site working as it is supposed to ASAP with no more hiccups. Keep it Troll and Abuser Free and do not ban anybody for Trivialities as what was happening in AB1
Morning Ed. You say that the Latest Posts should NOT show the latest poster on a question. OK so be it. But I think most users were campaigning for Latest Post to be restored as it was previously. It certainly lent itself to easier and more fluent conversations. Now, the only way to see if there are any additional comments within a thread is to and fro between posts within categories. Time consuming and boring.
Once again apologies if you have already covered this point.

Can the star rating system be re-introduced as it serves a dual purpose - recognising the quality of the answer
and acting as an acknowledgement that the answer has been read.
This (hopefully) stops people starting a brand new thread with words of thanks.
Additionally, when we add a comment toa thread there is no instant indication that it has been posted.

Once again, any chance we can have Post An Answer at the foot of the page, because that is where we end up after reading a thread. Scroling back up is a pain.

In response to the comments on the thread below:

kayakamina - We will have a star system eventually, hopefully it will be a stat for you to collect and display near your avatar - this was new users will know you are helpful etc. This is a few weeks off currently, we'll let you know when you need to hold your breath!

Sqad - We'll fix the recent posts box ASAP, it should be displaying faster than it does now. It should already show recent poster instead of the question author.

All the best,

Spare Ed
