euro symbol doesn't show on web pages

I cant see the euro symbol on pages on the internet.All i get is a vertical bar.... Am I missing a font...how can i remedy this?

In Internet Explorer, check under
view -> encoding. If it isn't set to Western European (Windows) try changing it to that.
