You have introduced a 'Military' section which I enjoy having been a member pf the RMP for a few years and having a son in the SIB.
But; what about the forgotten service The 'Merchant Navy'
Wherein I spent more time than I did in khaki (we didn't have DPM in those days)
Bearing in mind that several thousand seamen died providing the country with food etc during the war, and if their ship was sunk their wages stopped the minute it went down so if theye were rescued they only had what they stood in.

Stop playing devils advocate Newsy. I didn't say I wasn't grateful for our military during WW2 did i?

I'm also grateful for cakes, but I haven't requested a category for it have I?

Boo, surely Gurkhas & paratroops are military.
Merchant seamen are civilians.
