Military section

A few member have asked for a Military section and so I just want to find out what the general consensus is...

Do we want an to add a Military section and if so under which category would you like to see it?

I see no reason for it, there are whole sites dedicated to milltaries. That said if there's that much of an outcry for it then it could probably go in people and places.

If it does prove popular could you dedicate a category to military stuff with sub catagories for The Army, The Navy and (I hate to say this) The RAF?

A military section will not appeal to me!!

But I gather there are a few ex army Abers on here!!!

Can we have a tips section. Where people put their tried and tested tips, You could have subsections, like food. cars, computers etc.

I can't see why there shouldn't be a military section. Personally I have no objection to any new category. If you're not interested in it, then just like any other category you have no interest in, don't go to it!

It could be quite enlightening for those of us who know nothing about military issues. I'm sure 4GS has many an interesting tale to tell.

However, I do hope that it doesn't turn into a battle ground (pun intended) of macho posturing and disputes over who was really in the military and who wasn't (seasoned ABers will know what I'm talking about).

I too am not averse to any new catagory . A military section doesn't need sub-sections for each of the forces , Navy , Army , and RAF , as they are a tri-force .

Military could be put in with society and culture, could it not? Then I could ask: Where to send a message of support to our troops � where do I send it? Can I send goodies/books/etc?

Not really, your time would be better spent devising ways that people who use this site can do so without putting up with back biting or just plain silliness. Dunno if you will actually read this, but two things I'd like to see are

1) the ability to ignore the postings of anyone you choose to.

2) an icon maybe after the name to show country of origin. Too often advice is asked (and given) only to find it doesn't apply because they are not in the same country.

Great idea , I agree with 4GS and Lisa1983 on their comments, with a sub-section for messages of support for our troops.........wherever they are.
