If you have a bad tooth that is really hurting, can this pain affect the ear which is on the same side of your face? I am in agony at the moment, have a dentisits appointment tommorow but was wondering if maybe I could have a ear infection too.

Thanks guys xx

aw thaks guys, At this moment in time I really would rather be giving birth than putting up with this ear and tooth!!!!! Even painkillers arent doing the trick now! For the first time in my life, I am actually looking forward to going to the dentist!!

Thanks xx
i was the same as you counting the hours to go to dentist . i really feel for you > try and gets some rest as well if you can xx
I had both at the same time!! but was not worried about the ear infection as I was on painkillers for the tooth ache, but leaving the ear ache untreated resulted in a perforated ear drum!!

thanks everyone for replying!!! lets hope It is only hurting my ear cos ov my tooth and not a perforated ear drum! thats all I need, just came off antibiotics on monday cos of a kidney infection! Think I am just falling to pieces lol!!!

Thanks again xx
Sort of half lie down with your bad ear on a warm hot water bottle, and try to stay there if you can. When I had my tonsils out a few years back, the doctor came out to see me because my ear hurt so much. He told me there's one main nerve connected to your ear, nose and throat, and pain in one = pain in the others. I found being upright was best, and with the hot water bottle on that side I got a little bit of comfort. Make a nest in the corner of your sofa and stay there til tomorrow!! :o)
If you have any aspirin let one dissolve on the aching tooth, it will taste pretty awful but should ease the pain a bit.
Sounds like an abcess to me. Although sinusitis can cause those symptoms as can ear ache.
Question Author
Oh no, i really hope it isnt an abcess. I am at dentists tonight at four! I have never been so happy to go to the dentists lol! I must admit I had a better night last night after reading the advice you guys gave me!

Thanks to everyone who answeared to my post xx
If it is an abcess it would probably just be some antibiotics and you will feel better ina day better than drilling and filling. Good luck!
