Copying HTML code to HTML view in Front Page

Hi...
Im having a little problem when Im copying some simple HTML code into Front Page.
The opening and closing tags ("<" + "/>") are automatically being converted into "alt;" and I'm having to manually change each piece of code every time
Can anyone please tell me if there is a setting I need to change in Front Page to allow code to be copied directly into my HTML code?
