star ratings.

I realise people put a lot of effort into the answers they give to people, but are the star ratings really necessary. It seems to offend some people that some of the answers are not rated.

I am well aware that only the AB Ed can decide whether the star rating is necessary or not, I didn't say otherwise. I try to rate answers simply because that is what the site requires. To show appreciation of people taking the time to answer a question. Unfortunately I am a bit blinkered where animals are concerned .Yes it got my back up because people deviated from the question and used it to wind others up. They in my opinion and it's only my opinion did it deliberately. I have read through another post on the same subject and I believe the same person did a similar thing on there as well.
