Changing User Name

Because of site rules ED couldn't just change my name from berniecuddles to voltage which is fair enough so I had to start afresh. why can't my questions and answers and badges and best answers be transferred over to voltage which I accumulated since 2005 under the name berniecuddles I'm the same person ?
