Dear ED, re banning of questions. Is this an automated process after a given number of respondents have reported it ? Are all reportings subjected to editorial review ? It's just that I have seen questions withdrawn that looked little worse than 'naughty' while others of gut-churning revulsion have been allowed to live. I wonder if you could reveal something of the process ?  Thank you.

Hi whiffey & creepers,

No problem:

Basically, there are 2 channels through which a post is removed.

1) A post receives a certain amount of Reports by unique users and it is automatically withdrawn. The AB ED then has the opportunity to review the post and decides to put it back on the site or throw it in the fire for all Eternity.

2) The AB ED sees a post that falls outside the Editorial guidelines stipulated in the Site Rules and removes it.

So yes, all Reported posts are subjected to editorial review.

If you find a post particularly gut churning, please Report it.
