Anybody got a Snood?

I was wondering if any ABers wear a snood as I'm thinking of buying one and not sure which type looks best. The brochure I am looking at has them in cashmere in two different sizes. The first size goes round your neck just once and the second is probably not as wide as the first but goes round your neck twice. Anybody any idea which looks the best?

sorry ladybirder but I always thought a snood was a thick type hairnet for long hair ?
Yes I have a cashmere one............it's lovely and warm.
Sorry mine only goes round the neck once.......twice may get a bit sweaty.
I love snoods, you can get addicted to them. I`ve never seen them in different sizes but I`d say that the one going around twice would be better in the long run.

Thanks for all your answers. Craft because the longer ones aren't so wide I don't think they will be any warmer, or at least I hope not. MsEVP I've had a good look and have decided I like the look of the twice round better than the single. So I phoned up to order one and guess what ...... they have sold out of ALL the twicers but have plenty of the others. So that's it I defo want a twicer now as I always want what I can't have:-) And Dee Sa, you're right, the name was first used as a type of hair net according to wiki.
I take them when I go skiing.

They have them in Snow & Rock in Middle Street, just down the road from The Pump House.
They used to call them something else but I can't think what it is - do you mean the thing like a polo neck jumper, but without the jumper? To me, a snood is still the thing worn by Jane Asuten's heroines, to cover long hair, a crocheted hairnet sort of affair.
"like a polo neck jumper, but without the jumper"

That is just the best ever description of a snood !

Ooh thanks. What a good idea. Daughters got lotsa polo necks, now where's my scissors.
I used to have one a long time ago, that you could pull up like a hood over your head - can you still do that?
Wouldn't it be better to cut the body off the jumper, scrunch it up & wear that around the neck? They're worn loose aren't they? :o)

Great idea Robinia. I could tie the arms up over my ears and head when it's cold. Oh, maybe not, I'd look like Old Mother Riley:-(
Snoods are good - i knitted a couple in Merino wool. Very snug. I just made up the pattern
"Winter is coming. Sex with a Snood in the Snow" is just around the corner.

Come on you male Snood fans, let's be hearing from you.
I don't know about snoods but slankets must be the stupidest ever invention. By the time I got wrapped up in the bleeding thing it would be time for me to go for a wee.
How odd. Completely different from the snoods I knew as a young girl. These, as Dee says were thick decorative hair nets to tuck long hair into. What are they now? A kind of scarf?
Yes like a tube of material (usually knitted). The looser ones can be pulled up over the head at the back to form a hood.
I cant think what they look like. anyone got a picture of one. They sound great
I have some material ones called "Buff". Not as wide, snugger fit - can change into a hat too.
