It's cloudy and perhaps a little cool outside at the moment (although I've got the windows wide open) here in Suffolk but there's no rain forecast until this evening.

Your comment about 'the east coast getting most of it', reminds me of a time when I had friends who ran a café in Walton-on-the Naze (Essex). They used to get furious when TV weather presenters referred to 'rain along the east coast' but actually only meant around the Humber and the Tyne. There could often be glorious sunshine on such days in Essex but their takings frequently took a big hit because day trippers hadn't ventured out due to hearing about 'rain on the east coast'.

Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk are all on the east coast too!

While serving 21 days Regimental Porridge, 2 of us were called front and center to the Provost Sergeant's desk. Prisoners were always called upon to do menial tasks around the Garrison and he ordered the two of us to go and water the plants outside the Officer's Mess. I looked over his shoulder to where rain was lashing against the window. "But Sarge, it's raining," i said. "Well put your ******* raincoats on, then!" he replied. He really was as numb as they come.
