Lost in translation?
Could be Lice, Fleas, Black Flies, Mozzies, among many others. Black Flies are a real nuisance on animals so who knows.
There was some talk on an earlier post about scabies. I'll see if I can find it again.

The male brought some food this morning but did not take over incubation duties.
