Will post if we get them Rowan. Sainsbury's car park in Kettering has been great for Waxwings in recent years.
Spent many days last year watching about 24 short eared owls about three miles from me. Stunning views. We used to wrap up and take a picnic. Only one sighted nearby so far this year.
I've got Bingowings (sorry, couldn't resist)!
If only ... never seen a waxwing :+(

But I did spot our local Red Kite patrolling the fields across the road last week :+)
Beautiful birds Dave....will tell you when they arrive. Not too far for you..well farish. And if you could just pick up a few bits for me while you're there? :-)

Oh the dreaded bingowings Tenrec. Nothing works on them either, :-(
Love to but have never seen one ever

Hi Poshboy. x
Which county are you in Prudie?
Dorset gness, always been in the South. I'm quite a keen birdwatcher but they've evaded me.
We had a flock of them here in south Hampshire the year before last. First time I'd seen them and it was a real treat.
Dorset...my favourite county Prudie. Had lots of holidays in Dorset then daughter moved there...great! She's in Devon now. Post if you get waxwings and I'll tell you if she does.
Had a flock many moons ago when I lived in Birmingham - wonderful

just missed them two years ago... and have tried on other occasions they are my big target bird this winter
Then I'll do my best....not too far to here for a target bird. x
They've been a target bird of mine for years as has the avocet. Don't know why I've never seen one as there are meant to be some on Brownsea Island. Where did you used to holiday gness?
Not been recorded off the N. Yorks Coast though the N.E. Gale brought several species including a fall of Little Auks.
Prudie. We stayed all over Dorset. Had a caravan, hitched up and took off.
The avocet is my favourite bird.....apart from the raptors.
We need a bird sighted thread so we can keep each other updated.
