Maggie i can't cook porridge without it doing that, why does it boil over?
Hi,maggiebee,at least it's dry but yesterday it was dry but nae "drouth"You should make your porridge the Scottish way with oatmeal- a Scots lassie like you!! By the way have you found the poem yet?
Cook your porridge on the stove. If you keep stirring while it cooks it won't boil over.
That's about the extent of my cookery knowledge.
Morning maggiebee,

Yum.....Porridge................hangin' out...........and playin' about.............sounds like a perfectly pukka day to me, sweetheart. :0) x

.....I'm just thinking if i should nip down the post office.... have total strangers chat to me whilst in the queue (which I think i have a invisible to me sign on my head that says " Anyone can start chatting to me about any subject you like"......( i must stop smiling at people.....lol )
.....and renew my car tax.. ( runs out on the 30th )

.....now THAT is really boring! :0)
I prefer reddybrek, loved it since I was a kid.
Well said, sandyRoe.My OH makes his with porage oats and uses a fairly big bowl so no boiling over-easier than standing stirring
I'm a real beginner when it comes to porridge and am put off all too easily. Unfortunately standing at a stove thinking about washing the pot up afterwards makes me reach for the toaster instead.
Sorry...I think I trump you all....I'm waiting in for a man to discuss kitchen flooring...and so far he's 56 minutes late
Now this is more like it...

Hi,Maidup, it doesn't take long if you steep it overnight and use a non-stick pan.I'll have to stop thinking about porridge.I'm starving-no food since lunch-time yesterday till after the procedure this afternoon.Ugh!
"I will see you in the post office in 15 mins"

Oops. I thought Yogi had gone.

I hope it all goes well for you this afternoon quinie. Afternoon appointments are always tough at times like these. Are you allowed clear liquids? If so how about a weak marmite or bovril drink to cheer up your taste buds?
